GREETINGS...GREETINGS!.....

'WISHING ALL A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS'

GIFTS

The best thing to give to your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity - Balfour

OUR ONCE UPON A TIME ....

Even without the torn jeans, he made a scruffy-looking ten year old. His fifth grade classmates had never seen anyone as poorly dressed and unpolished as Marco. This was his first day of elementary school in a quaint New England town of well-to-do families. Marco's parents were migrant fruit pickers and his classmates eyed him with suspicion for the first part of the day. Even though they whispered and made comments about his clothes, he didn't seem to notice.

Then came recess and the kickball game. Marco led off the first inning with a home run, earning him a bit of respect from his wardrobe critics. Next up to kick was Richard, the least athletic and most over-weight child in the class. After his second strike (amid the groans of his classmates), Marco edged up to Richard and quietly said, "Forget them, kid. You can do it!" Richard kicked a home run and at that precise moment, something began to change in Marco's class. Over the next few months, Marco was able to teach the class many new things. Things such as how to tell when fruit was ripe, how to call a wild turkey and, especially, how to treat other people.

By the time Marco's parents finished their work in the area, the class was preparing to celebrate Christmas. While other students brought the teacher fancy scarves, perfumes and soaps, Marco stepped up to the teacher's desk with a special gift. It was a rock that he delivered into the teacher's hands which was beautiful and bright. "I polished it up special," he said.

Years later, the teacher still had Marco's rock on her desk. At the beginning of each school year, she would tell her class about the gentle boy who taught her and her class not to judge a book by its cover. And that it's what's on the inside of others that truly counts.

JENNIFER...A CHRISTMAS STORY...(sob...sob)

MERRY CHRISTMAS. Love, Jennifer

(In the previous story, Merry Christmas, Jennifer, Wayne Furrow sent his departed daughter, Jennifer, a Christmas letter via the Internet. It was picked up by a few people and shortly after, Mr. Furrow received this reply.)

Dad,

I did get to experience the Internet and you're right .... I love it. I don't think it's the same Net you are on though. I travel the universe - no downtime, flames, smears, nothing like that at all.

I am with you Christmas morning. Actually, I'm with you every morning. Haven't you felt my presence? Heard my voice? Seen me in a thousand different places? I can do that for a while but eventually I will have to spend more and more of my time spreading around the things you taught me: love, caring, giving, loyalty.

I can't say that I miss you because where I am there are no feelings that are sad. Honestly! Not ever! I do know when you think of me and I am happy. Did you know that I can view my whole life with you and Sarah and Mom in just a few seconds! Can you imagine?

I have so many other people here that are the greatest. Someday you'll find out for yourself. Just remember this Daddy, I'm never sad. I have a feeling that someday this great feeling will be even greater. That's because you'll be with me. Don't be in any rush though. There are a lot of neat things that you can do down there that I can' t do up here, like, love Mom a lot.

Love, Jennifer

Mr. Furrow, I lost a wife and a child a long time ago. I wish I could have received one last letter. God be with you and please forgive an old man's sentimentality. Your letter touched me at the very core of my being.

Every blessing to you.
Fr. Howard Gorle

MERRY CHRISTMAS, Jennifer

Hi, sweetheart. Christmas won't be the same without you this year, but we will try to cope with the many memories of our 19 years spent with you. All I want for Christmas is to have you back with us, but knowing that is impossible I will settle for a letter to you: God will hopefully hand-deliver it in time for the holiday.

I missed having you being here to help me with my Christmas shopping. You always had a sense of what your mom liked. I managed okay, I think you were probably helping me. Your mom will love the gift you sent her from Heaven! Sarah too!

Your mom has done a lot of baking this week; uncooked cake, date squares, etc. Surprised, eh?

Our traditional Christmas get-together will be at your Uncle Steve's place this year. We don't know how we will handle it, but will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Sarah is doing okay, still dating Brian (which has really helped her).

We know she misses you mostly at nights, when you two would do so much talking. She misses her big sister's advice and odd spat!

I have to go to the cemetry tomorrow and shovel 3 1/2 feet of snow, in case some of the family want to visit your grave site. We decorated the poles, hung a white and red bird and a few bells for you to hear when the wind blows. It really looks nice. We know Patrick misses you, and you him. Sorry I wasn't more supportive of your relationship, that will bother me until I can apologise in person.

I'm sorry you never got to experience the Internet, Jenny. You would have loved it! I have met some wonderful people online, families that have also lost children. They have helped me tremendously in coping with your death. Most times, other than your mom, it has been my only release. Losing one's child is the most pain a parent can experience, and being able to correspond with others in the same situation is surely a blessing. Jennifer, we will miss you always. We will never stop loving you or ever forget you!

Love, Sarah, Mom and Dad Furrow

IHSAN SESAMA INSAN

THANKS .....AGAIN!

A British family journeyed to Scotland for a summer vacation. The mother and father were looking forward to enjoying the beautiful Scottish countryside with their young son. But one day the son wandered off all by himself and got into trouble. As he walked through the woods, he came across an abandoned swimming hole, and as most boys his age do, he took off his clothes and jumped in. He was totally unprepared for what happened next. Before he had time to enjoy the pool of water, he was seized by a vicious attack of cramps. He began calling for help while fighting a losing battle with the cramps to stay afloat.

Luckily, it happened that in a nearby field a farm boy was working. When he heard the frantic cries for help, he brought the English boy to safety. The father whose son had been rescued was of course very grateful. The next day, he went to meet the youth who had saved his son's life. As the two talked, the Englishman asked the brave lad what he planned to do with his future. The boy answered, "Oh, I suppose I'll be a farmer like my father." The grateful father said, "Is there something else you'd rather do?" "Oh, yes!" answered the Scottish lad. "I've always wanted to be a doctor. But we are poor people and could never afford to pay for my education." "Never mind that," said the Englishman. "You shall have your heart's desire and study medicine. Make your plans, and I'll take care of the costs." So, the Scottish lad did indeed become a doctor.

There is more. Some years later, in December of 1943, Winston Churchill became very ill with pneumonia while in North Africa. Word was sent to Sir Alexander Fleming, who had discovered the new wonder drug, penicillin, to come immediately. Flying in from England, Dr. Fleming administered his new drug to the ailing prime minister. In doing so, he saved Churchill's life for the second time. For it was the boy Winston Churchill whom Alexander Fleming had rescued from the swimming hole so many years before.

FISIOLOGI SABAR DAN FIKIRAN POSITIF

Kajian yang dilakukan di Harvard School of Public Health and the Department of Veterans Affairs menunjukkan golongan tua yang optimis mempunyai risiko yang rendah menghidap sakit jantung koronary. Hormon adrenalin memudahkan proses pembekuan darah. Ini boleh menyebabkan serangan sakit jantung berlaku.

NEEDED: PEOPLE!

Opportunities must be nourished if they are to survive. As Peter Drucker, the father of modern management, says, "Feed an opportunity; starve a problem."

You cannot do it on your own. You will need the help of others - and you will need to give help to others - if you want to be successful. And that will require you to connect with others. To do that, follow these suggestions:

* Focus on people.

* Be likable.

* Show others that you care.

* Remember everyone's name.

* Walk slowly through the crowd.

* Be generous.

SIKAP

ATTITUDE

High achievers tended to care about people as well as profits; low achievers were preoccupied with their own security.

High achievers viewed subordinates optimistically; low achievers showed a basic distrust of subordinates' abilitities.

High achievers sought advice from their subordinates, low achievers didn't.

High achievers were listeners; low achievers avoided communication and relied on policy manuals.

Often our attitude is the only difference between success and failure.

History's greatest achievements have been made by men who excelled only slightly over the masses of others in their fields.

This could be called the principle of the slight edge. Many times that slight difference was attitude. The former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir underlined this truth in one of her interviews. She said, "All my country has is spirit. We don't have petroleum dollars. We don't have mines or great wealth in the ground. We don't have the support of a worldwide public opinion that looks favourably on us. All Israel has is the spirit on its people. And if the people lose their spirit, even the United States of America cannot save us." This great lady was saying.

WHEN GOD THROWS A BRICK AT YOU...

GOD DIDN'T PROMISE DAYS WITHOUT PAIN, LAUGHTER WITHOUT SORROW, SUN WITHOUT RAIN, BUT
HE DID PROMISE STRENGTH FOR THE DAY, COMFORT FOR THE TEARS, AND LIGHT FOR THE WAY...

THE BRICK

A young and successful executive was travelling down a neighbourhood street, going a bit too fast in his new Jaguar. He was watching for kids darting out from between parked cars and slowed down, when he thought he saw something. As his car passed, no children appeared. Instead a brick smashed into the Jag's side door! He slammed on the brakes and backed the Jag back to the spot where the brick had been thrown.

The angry driver then jumped out of the car, grabbed the nearest kid and pushed him up against a parked car shouting, 'What was that all about and who are you? Just what the heck are you doing?. That's a new car and that brick you threw is going to cost a lot of money. Why did you do it?'

The young boy was apologetic. 'Please, mister... please, I'm sorry but I didn't know what to do' . He pleaded. 'I threw the brick because no one else would stop...' With tears dripping down his face and off his chin, the youth pointed to a spot just around a parked car...'It's my brother' he said, 'he rolled off the curb and fell out of his wheelchair and I can't lift him up.'

Now sobbing, the boy asked the stunned executive, 'Would you please help me get him back into his wheelchair? He's hurt, he's too heavy for me.'

Moved beyond words, the driver tried to swallow the rapidly lump in his throat. He hurriedly lifted the handicapped boy back into the wheelchair, then took out a linen handkerchief and tapped at the fresh scrapes and cuts. A quick look told him everything was going to be okay 'Thank you and may God bless you,' the grateful child told the stranger. Too shook up for words, the man simply watched the boy push the wheelchair-bound brother down the sidewalk toward their home.

It was a long, slow walk back to the Jaguar... The damage was very noticeable, but the driver never bothered to repair the dented side door. He kept the dent there to remind him of this message: 'Don't go through life so fast that someone has to throw a brick at you to get your attention!' God whispers in our souls and speaks to our hearts. Sometimes when we don't have to listen, HE has to throw a brick at us. It's our choice to listen or not.

Writer's Comments: Thank you Raja Anoura Raja Mohd Biajid and friends for sharing this beautiful story to all readers.

'GOD TEST WHOM GOD LOVE'

God willed the boy's hand to throw the brick to get attention. Blessed is the young and successful executive, owner of the new Jaguar known for its sleek and speed. God had thrown "hidayah", God-Given Guidance onto this young executive. We, religious and non-religious waited a life time to be thrown "hidayah" onto us.

DO NOT COVET YOUR IDEAS

GIVE AWAY EVERYTHING YOU KNOW, AND MORE WILL COME BACK TO YOU

You will remember from school other students preventing you from seeing their answers by placing their arm around their exercise book or exam paper.

It is the same at work, people are secretive with ideas. 'Don't tell them that, they'll take the credit for it.'

The problem with hoarding is you end up living off your reserves. Eventually you'll become stale.

If you give away everything you have, you are left with nothing. This forces you to look, to be aware, to replenish.

Somehow the more you give away the more comes back to you.

Ideas are open knowledge. Don't claim ownership

They're not your ideas anyway, they're someone else's. They are out there floating by on the ether.

You just have to put yourself in a frame of mind to pick them up.

BEES

The world of bees is full of wonders that remind us of Allah's care. The tiny bee leaves its hive in order to seek out sustenance. It lands on a good and pure surface and sucks out nectar. It then returns with a liquid that provides remedy for people, always returning to its own hive without losing its way.

NEGATIVE TALKING IS CONTAGIOUS

PERSEVERE (EVERY DAY)

Never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.
- HARRIET BEECHER STOW

A man who lived by the side of the road and sold hot dogs was hard of hearing, so he had no radio. He had trouble with his eyes, so he read no newspapers. But he sold good hot dogs. He put up signs on the highway advertising them. He stood on the side of the road and cried, "Buy a hot dog, mister?" and people bought his hot dogs. He increased his meat and bun orders. He bought a bigger stove to take care of his trade.

He finally got his son to come home from college to help out. But then something happened. "Father, haven't you been listening to the radio?" his son said. "Haven't you been reading the newspaper? There's a big recession on. The European situation is terrible. The domestic situation is worse."

Whereupon the father thought, "Well, my son's been to college, he reads the papers and he listens to the radio, and he ought to know."

So the father cut down his meat and bun orders, took down his signs and no longer bothered to stand out on the highway to sell his hot dogs. His sales fell overnight.

"You're right, son," the father said to the boy. "We certainly are in the middle of a big recession."

Has someone else's negative attitude ever changed your actions?

HADITH (pl. AHADITH)

Report of the words and deeds of Muhammad and other early Muslims: considered an authoritative source of revelation, second only to the Quran (sometimes referred to as sayings of the Prophet).

Compilers were careful to record hadith exactly as received from recognised transmission specialists. The six most authoritative collections are those of al-Bukhari, Muslim, al-Tirmidhi, Abu Daud al-Sijistani, al-Nasai and al-Qazwini.

In an authentic hadith, the Prophet (bpuh) said:

"All blessed is He and Most High says: 'O' son of Adam, indeed you will not supplicate to Me and hope from Me except that I will forgive you in proportion to what came from you (i.e. your level of sincerity), and I won't mind. 'O' son of Adam, if your sins were to reach in magnitude the height of the heavens, and then you were to ask Me for forgiveness, I would forgive you, and I won't mind. 'O' son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins that (in their size) almost fill the earth, and you met Me without ascribing to Me any partners, I would come to you with its size in forgiveness.'"

Bukhari related that the Propet (bpuh) said:

"Indeed, Allah extends His Hand in the night to forgive the one who sins in the day, and He extends His Hand in the day to forgive the one who sins at night, and this continues until the sun rises from the west."

In another authentic narration, the Prophet (bpuh) said:

"Every one of you is constantly doing wrong, and the best of those who constantly doing wrong, are the ones who are constantly making repentance."

He (bpuh) also said in this authentic hadith:

"Truly, Allah is happier with the repentance of His slave than one of you who is on the mount, and upon his mount is his drink and food, then he loses his mount in the desert, and he searches for it until he loses hope, so he sleeps and then wakes up to find that his mount is beside him, and he says, 'O' Allah, you are my slave and I am your Lord'. He pronounces this mistake as a result of his extreme happiness."

He (bpuh) is also authentically reported to have said:

"Verily, a slave (of Allah) commits a sin and then he says, 'O' Allah, forgive me my sin, for indeed, none forgives sins except You'. Then he commits another sin, and he afterwards says, 'O' Allah, forgive me my sin, for indeed, none forgives sins except You'. Then he commits another sin, and he afterwards says, 'O' Allah, forgive me my sin, for indeed, none forgives sins except You'. Then Allah says, 'My slave knows that he has a Lord, Who takes one to account for sins, and Who also forgives sins, so let my slave do as he wishes.'"

The meaning of this is that as long as Allah's slave is contrite and repentant, then Allah will forgive him.

Inilah idaman setiap insan. Inilah cita-cita setiap manusia yang berakal.

MUTIARA KATA

Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda yang bermaksud:

(Riwayat Ahmad)

PERNAHKAH anda menganiaya orang lain?

Setiap janji hendaklah ditunaikan.

Sabda Nabi s.a.w. yang bermaksud:

NAMES AND NAMING

The names given to a child often reflect the religious convictions of the parents. The Quran instructs that the only "given" name is the first name. The second name is to be the father's and the third name the grandfather's. This requirement traditionally applies to both boys and girls. Naming of a child may not occur until registration, which in some cultures is delayed if the actual birthdate is considered inauspicious or important family members are absent. The family typically discusses the name and assesses the child's personality and health to determine the name to be given. Traditionally, in the interim male children are called Muhammad and female children Fatimah. Celebrations herald the decision on a child's name in traditional societies. THE FUTURE DESTINY OF THE CHILD IS ALWAYS THE WORK OF THE MOTHER - Napoleon

"WHAT IS WANTING," said Napoleon one day to Madame Campen, "IN ORDER THAT THE YOUTH OF FRANCE BE WELL EDUCATED?"

"GOOD MOTHERS," was the reply. The Emperor was most forcibly struck with this answer. "HERE," said he, "IS A SYSTEM IN ONE WORD." - J.S.C. Abbott

DOCUMENT XXXVIII
Profession of Islamic faith by Bonaparte

When the defeat by the Ottoman army was known in Cairo, the Muslims of that town regarded it as a calamity. They were filled with bitter disappointment, and lost hope of seeing Egypt restored to the Islamic power.

"Ulemas and lords," he said to them,"I am surprised at the sorrow caused by my victory. You have therefore not yet learned to appreciate me: however I have often told you and repeated to you, that I was a Muslim, that I believed in the unity of God, that I honoured the prophet Muhammad and loved the Muslims, and you have not given credence to my words, and have believed that they were inspired in me as fear.

WHAT IS AN ATTITUDE?

It is the "advance man" of our true selves.
Its roots are inward but its fruit is outward.
It is our best friend or our worst enemy.
It is more honest and more consistent than our words.
It is an outward look based on past experiences.
It is a thing which draws people to us or repels them.
It is never content until it is expressed.
It is the librarian of our past.
It is the speaker of our present.
It is the prophet of our future.

PHARAOH MERNEPTAH'S MUMMY

"Pharaoh ruled with tyranny in the land and divided its people into castes, one group of which he persecuted, killing their sons and sparing only their daughters. Truly, he was an evil man."
Surah 28 Al-Qasas (The Story) verse 4

And Pharaoh said, "Nobles, you have no other god that I know of except myself. Haman, build me a tower from bricks of clay that I may climb and see the god of Moses. I suspect that he is definitely lying." Surah 28 - Al Qasas verse 38

Author: Maurice Bucaille - The BIBLE, The QUR'AN And SCIENCE

The mummified body of Merneptah, son of Ramesses II and Pharaoh of the Exodus - all the evidence points to this - was discovered by Loret in 1898 at Thebes in the Kings' Valley whence it was transported to Cairo. Elliot Smith removed its wrappings on the 8th of July, 1907: he gives a detailed description of this operation and the examination of the body in his book The Royal Mummies (1912). At that time the mummy was in a satisfactory state of preservation, in spite of deterioration in several parts. Since then, the mummy has been on show to visitors at the Cairo Museum, with his head and neck uncovered and the rest of body concealed under a cloth. It is so well hidden indeed, that until very recently, the only general photographs of the mummy that the Museum possessed were those taken by E. Smith in 1912.

In June 1975, the Egyptian high authorities very kindly allowed me to examine the parts of the Pharaoh's body that had been covered until then. They also allowed me to take photographs. When the mummy's present state was compared to the condition it was over sixty years ago, it was abundantly clear that it had deteriorated and fragments had disappeared. The mummified tissues had suffered greatly, at the hand of man in some places and through the passage of time in others.

This natural deterioration is easily explained by the changes in the conditions of conservation from the time in the late Nineteenth century when it was discovered. Its discovery took place in the tomb of the Necropolis of Thebes where the mummy had lain for over three thousand years. Today, the mummy is displayed in a simple glass case which does not afford hermetic insulation from the outside, nor does it offer protection from pollution by micro-organisms. The mummy is exposed to fluctuations in temperature and seasonal changes in humidity: it is very far from the conditions which enabled it to remain protected from any source of deterioration for approximately three thousand years. It has lost the protection afforded by its wrappings and the advantage of remaining in the closed environment of the tomb where the temperature was more constant and the air less humid than it is in Cairo at certain times of the year. Of course, while it was in the Necropolis itself, the mummy had to withstand the visits of grave plunderers (probably very early on) and rodents: they caused a certain amount of damage, but the conditions were nevertheless (it seems) much more favourable for it to stand the test of time than they are today.

At my suggestion, special investigations were made during this examination of the mummy in June 1975. An excellent radiographic study was made by Doctors El Meligy and Ramaiya, and the examination of the interior of the thorax, through a gap in the thoracic wall, was carried out by Doctor Mustapha Manialawiy in addition to an investigation of the abdomen. This was the first example of endoscopy being applied to a mummy. This technique enabled us to see and photograph some very important details inside the body. Professor Ceccaldi performed a general medico-legal study which will be completed by an examination under the microscope of some small fragments that spontaneously fell from the mummy's body: this examination will be carried out by Professor Mignot and Doctor Durigon I regret to say that definitive pronouncements cannot be made by the time this book goes to print.

What may already be derived from this examination is the discovery of multiple lesions of the bones with broad lacunae, some of which may have been mortal - although it is not yet possible to ascertain whether some of them occurred before or after the Pharaoh's death. He most probably died either from drowning, according to the Scriptural narrations, or from very violent shocks preceding the moment when he was drowned - or both at once.

The connection of these lesions with the deterioration whose sources have been mentioned above renders the correct preservation of the mummy of the Pharaoh somewhat problematical, unless precautionary and restorative measures are not taken very soon. These measures should ensure that the only concrete evidence which we still possess today concerning the death of the Pharaoh of the Exodus and the rescue of his body, willed by God, does not disappear with the passage of time.

It is always desirable for man to apply himself to the preservation of relics of his history, but here we have something which goes beyond that: it is the material presence of the mummified body of the man who knew Moses, resisted his pleas, pursued him as he took flight, lost his life in the process. His earthly remains were saved by the Will of God from destruction to become a sign to man, as it is written in the Quran.

Those who seek among modern data for proof of the veracity of the Holy Scriptures will find a magnificient illustration of the verses of the Qur'an dealing with the Pharaoh's body by visiting the Royal Mummies Room of the Eygytian Museum, Cairo.

ALLAH JAGA MANUSIA

Demikianlah pemurahnya Allah SWT Yang Maha Pemurah.

SURRENDERING TO YOUR HIGHEST GOOD

To surrender is 'to allow our inner resistance to melt'. Look deeply into your heart - find the highest unfulfilled good in you. It may be the fear to explore or to pursue your life's work. Disregard what others have to say. Trust and discover the wonders you may never have found if you hadn't done so.

A SMILE EVERY MORNING....

PART AND PARCEL OF LIVE... I've Learnt...

A contributed article

To get off to a good start every day, a husband should smile when he meets his wife and vice versa. This smile is an introductory announcement of agreement and compromise.

"A smile in your brother's face is charity"

And the Messenger of Allah (bpuh) always wore a smile on his face.

(Greet one another with a greeting from Allah (ie. say: As-Salamu 'Alaykum) blessed and good)
(Qur'an 24:61)

(When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally.) (Qur'an 4:86)

Also, upon resuming one's domestic life, by which I mean, upon entering one's home, one should always make the prescribed supplication:

"O'Allah, I ask you for the best of entries and the best of exits. By Allah's name do we enter and by Allah's name do we exit. And upon Allah, our Lord, do we place our trust."

To speak in a friendly tone also breeds understanding in the home: (And say to My slaves (ie. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best) (Qur'an 17:53)

Would that both husband and wife remember the good points of the other, forgetting the negative ones. When a husband keeps the positive aspects of his wife in his mind while forgetting (or at least blocking out) her defects, he will find peace and happiness.

An Arab poet said:

"Who is the one who has never erred?
And who is the possessor of pure good?"

(And had it not been for the Grace of Allah and his Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins. But Allah purifies (guides to Islam) whom He wills, and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.) (Qur'an 24:21)

Minor and trifling matters are the causes of most domestic problems, and I myself have witnessed many marriages that ended in divorce, not because of irreconcilable differences, but because of something small and unimportant. One such domestic strife began because the house was not clean; another resulted because dinner was not cooked on time; the cause of yet another was the woman's objection to the inordinate number of guests coming to see her husband. A list of these and other problems can end up tearing a family apart, leaving children without a father or a mother.

It is incumbent upon us to live in a world of reality (especially as regards to our spouses) and not to dream up a utopia, one that has to be realised in the home. We as humans can become angry and irritable, weak and erring. Therefore, when we speak about or search for domestic bliss, we should keep the concept of relative happiness in mind, and not total happiness.

The agreeable nature and good companionship of Iman Ahmad ibn Hanbal deserves mention here. He said after the death of his wife, "She has been my companion for forty years, and in that span of time, I never had a disagreement with her."

The husband must remain quiet when his wife becomes angry and vice versa, at least until the anger subsides and the storm abates. Ibn al-Jawzi said in Sayd al-Khaatir:

"When your companion becomes angry and says something that is unwarranted, you should not take it too hard. His situation is that of a drunken person who is not aware of what is taking place. Instead, be patient, even if it means only for a little while. If you reciprocate his words with harsh words of your own, you become like the sane person who seeks revenge on a madman, or the conscious person who seeks retribution from an unconscious one. Look at him with a merciful eye and pity him for his actions."

Know that as soon as he awakes from this state, he will feel regretful for what happened, and he will come to recognise your value because of your patience. You should especially be patient if the angry person is either a spouse or a parent. Let them say whatever they want until they calm down and do not hold them accountable for their words. Whenever the angry person is met with anger, his anger will fail to subside, even after he has revived from his state of drunkeness.

NEVER SAY DIE!....

THE RACE AT SUNRISE

Every morning in Africa,

a gazelle wakes up. It knows that it must run

faster than the fastest lion,

or it will be killed.

Every morning a lion wakes up.

It knows that it must outrun the slowest gazelle,

or it will starve to death.

It doesn't matter whether you are a lion

or a gazelle, when the sun comes up,

you had better be running.

- AFRICAN PARABLE

LESSON FROM A FARMER

A young man from the city graduated from college with a degree in journalism and got a job at a small-town newspaper. One of his first assignments was to interview an old farmer who lived twenty miles outside of town. As he sat with the grizzled man on his front porch, the young journalist looked at his notepad and started asking his questions. One of the first he asked was, "Sir, what time do you go to work in the morning?" The old farmer chuckled and replied, "Son, I don't go to work. I'm surrounded by it." We can learn a lesson from the old farmer. Opportunities are a lot like his work. They are everywhere. But the problem is that we often don't have the eyes to see them. As you approach each day, look around. Be aware. If you don't see opportunities, remember that it's not because they aren't there. You're always surrounded by them. You simply need to open your eyes and see them. Then act on them.
