CHARITY BRINGS PEACE TO THE GIVER.....

ASSALAMUALAIKUM

Dear ALL,

First and foremost I thank all, who spent time to read my blog.
Secondly, I thank all "hamba Allah" who have contributed pictures, articles and especially the "Hello" caricature, which I randomly applied as an "icon" for my messages.

My blog is a means of communication to all my loved ones, relatives and friends whom I cherish and love. With all sincerity, though I may not communicate verbally, "I do pray for all the goodness in life" for all.

Thank you again for your contribution and time.

THIS IS MY STYLE: As you will notice almost all articles are accompanied with (on the left) centre and right. My favourite font is "Arial".

ARTICLE: Among the factors that contribute to one's happiness are performing acts of kindness to others and giving charity.

Miserly people are deplorable in their manners and are always ill at ease. They are stingy in sharing the favours of Allah. If the miser only knew that he would achieve happiness by spending money, on those who are poor, then he would surely race to give charity.

A man said to his wife:

"If you have prepared a meal, invite
A voracious eater, for I cannot bear to eat by myself."

Then he said to her, proclaiming his philosophy:

"Name a generous person who died from being generous,
Or a miserly one who lived forever, and I will desist."

REMINDING OUR LOVED ONES GENTLY IS ALSO "CHARITY" - by way of information:

1. "SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE" while " solat berjemaah" in the mosque.

2. "SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE" while you are at the Immigration Check Points.

3. "SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE" while doing transaction in the bank.

I AM TAKING A SHORT BREAK FROM BLOGGING.

HAPPY VIEWING....

WASSALAM,

AISHAH SAID

EXTRACT THE HONEY BUT DO NOT BREAK THE HIVE

Everything that has gentleness in it is beautiful, and whatever lacks it is spoiled. When you meet someone, giving him a bright smile and a kind word, you are displaying a characteristic of the truly successful man, a characteristic that even a bee exhibits. When a bee lands on a flower (doing so for a practical purpose) it does not destroy it, because Allah rewards gentleness with that which He does not give for harshness. There are certain people whose personalities are like magnets, attracting everyone who is nearby, simply because they are loved for their gentle talk, their good manners and their noble deeds.

Winning the friendship of others is an art that is mastered by those that are noble and pious; a circle of people constantly surrounds them. Their mere presence in a gathering is a blessing, and when they are absent they are missed and asked about.

These blessed people have a code of conduct entitled:
** Repel (the evil) with one which is better (ie. Allah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! He, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend.**
(Qur'an 41: 34)

They suck out malice from others with their sincerity, forgiveness, and gentleness. They forget evil that was enacted upon them and preserve the memory of kindnesses received. Biting, harsh words may be aimed at them, but such words pass by their ears without entering and continue on their path without ever returning. They are in a state of calmness. People in general, and Muslims in particular, are safe from suffering any harm at their hands. The Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) said:

"The Muslim is the person whose tongue and hand do not harm other Muslims. And the Believer is he whom others trust, with blood and wealth."

He (bpuh) also said:

"Verily, Allah ordered me to keep relations with those that cut me off, to forgive the one who does an injustice with me, and to give to those who withhold from me."

**Those who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves the good-doers.**
(Qur'an 3: 134)

Give to such people glad tidings of an imminent reward in this world, in terms of peace and tranquility.

Also give glad tidings to them of a great reward in the Hereafter, of Paradise, wherein they will be in close proximity to their forgiving Lord.

MASUK SYURGA

Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda:

Sombong ertinya merasa hebat. Merasa pintar, merasa kaya, merasa kuat, merasa cantik dan sebagainya. Orang sombong biasanya meremehkan orang lain.

Namun barangkali berat menghindarinya.

Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda:

EVERLASTINGNESS AND PARADISE ARE THERE, AND NOT HERE!

Do you wish to stay young, healthy, rich and immortal? If you desire these things, you will not find them in this world; however, you can find them in the Hereafter. Allah, the Exalted, has decreed misery and impermanence for this world. He has called this life a trifle and an enjoyment of deception.

There is a well-known poet from long ago, who for the greater part of his life lived a life of penury. In the prime of his youth, he wanted money and could not get it. He wanted a wife too, but he failed in that pursuit as well. When he became old, with white hair and brittle bones, he became rich. Many women were now willing to marry him and he lived a comfortable life. The irony of his story is that he was poor when he was able to enjoy all comforts and that he became rich when he could no longer enjoy the pleasures of life. He composd these verses in the latter part of his life:

"What I desired to own when I was only twenty,
Came into my possession after turning eighty.
Young Turkish girls now surround me,
Singing and wearing silks and jewels.
They say, 'Your moans keep us awake all night long,
So what is it that you complain of?'
I said, 'Of being an Octogenarian.'"

"The example of this world is that a rider who seeks shade under a tree - to rest for a short period of time - and then he gets up and leaves."

CAST OFF ANXIETY

Travelling to different lands is an activity which doctors recommend, especially for those who are feeling downcast constricted by the narrowness of their own rooms. Therefore go forth and find delight in travelling.
(And they think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): 'Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You!') (Qur'an 3: 191)

Live today as if it were the last day of your life. With this frame of mind and outlook towards life, you have no reason to allow sadness or anger to steal the little time you have. In a hadith, the Prophet (Blessings and Peace be upon him) said:

"When the morning comes upon you, then do not expect to see the evening, and when you see the night, do not expect to see the morning."

In other words, live with heart, body, and soul for today only, without dwelling upon the past and without being anxious about the future. An Arab poet said:

"The past is lost forever, and that which is hoped for is from the unseen. So all that you have is the present hour."

Being preoccupied with the past and dragging past woes into the present - these are the signs of an unstable and unsound mind. A Chinese proverb reads: "Do not cross the bridge until you reach it."

In other words, be anxious over events only when they come to pass. One of our pious predecessors said: "O' son of Adam, verily, you have only three days: Yesterday, and it has forsaken you; tomorrow, and it has yet to arrive; and today, so fear Allah and obey Him in it."

How can he truly live who carries with him the concerns of the past, the present, and the future? How can one find peace, while constantly recollecting that which has already occurred? One plays a past event back in his mind, feels it pain, and yet benefits nothing from the process.

The meaning of, 'when the morning comes, do not expect to see the evening, and when the evening comes, do not expect to see the morning,' is that we should not have lofty or long-term hopes for this world. Expect death and do your best in doing good deeds. Do not let your concerns and ambitions surpass the limit of that day in which you live, a code that will allow you to concentrate and spend all of your energies on being productive each day. Use time efficiently and concentrate all of your efforts on achieving something today, by improving your manners, taking care of your health, and improving your relations with others.

Rasulullah s.a.w. bersabda:

Perbanyak kamulah sujud.

Dia menjadikan ketaatannya hanya semata mata mencari keredhaan Allah. Dia menghindari sifat riak dan nifaq; iaitu kemunafikan.

SURAH 17 AL-ISRA' (THE NIGHT JOURNEY)

PLEASE SPARE SOME TIME TO READ....PRETTY LENGTHY....

Al-Aqsa: Seventh-century mosque in the Haram al-Sharif, Jerusalem. Known as the "Farther Mosque" to distinguish it from the "Holy Mosque" of Mecca. Mentioned in connection with the Prophet's Nocturnal Journey in the Quran. (17:1)

Buraq: Winged creature, usually depicted as a horse, which Muhammad mounted and rode to Jerusalem, through seven heavens, hell and paradise, into the presence of God, and back to earth, according to the story of his Night Journey.

Tawhid is the defining doctrine of Islam. It declares absolute monotheism - the unity and uniqueness of God as Creator and Sustainer of the universe. Used by Islamic reformers and activities as an organising principle for human society and the basis of religious knowledge, history, metaphysics, aesthetics, and ethics, as well as social, economic, and world order.

THIS SURAH IS KNOWN by the two titles: The Israelites and Al-Isra', the Night Journey. Its opening verse refers to Prophet Muhammad's remarkable night journey from Makkah to Jerusalem in 621 AC. The following verses then immediately turn back in history to relate some important episodes from the Israelites' first sojourn in Palestine. The Torah had firmly and conclusively established the religious and political identity of the Israelites. However, although they had initially emerged as a model community, promoting order, cohesion, and fairness, their behaviour soon changed and began to resemble more that of the Pharaohs, their arch oppressors. In the end they created chaos and havoc.

The Qur'an foretells that the Israelites would soon renege and deviate, incurring yet more divine displeasure and punishment. "... If you (the Israelites) revert (to sinning), We shall revert (to chastising you). And (remember this:) We have ordained that (in the Hereafter) hell shall close upon all who deny the truth" (8).

In recent times, however, it has been the turn of the Muslims to neglect their obligations towards the establishment of God's order in this world and as a result incur His displeasure. The great irony of the current situation is, however, that it is the Israelites, previously condemned for the same misdeeds, who have overwhelmed the Muslims. Since the Muslims, in possession of authentic and impeccable revelation, have regressed into bigotry and enthnocentricity, they have been humbled by the Israelites, a condemned and censored people, who have in contrast rallied around their religious laws and traditions to overcome the Muslims.

(105) We have revealed it (the Qur'an) with the Truth, and with the Truth it has come down.

Attention is being drawn to the fact that the Qur'an is the most effective instrument that can unite the Muslims and make them into a great world power again.

In the story of the Israelites we have a clear lesson and a warning. They were dominated and defeated by pagans and fire worshippers because they did not respect their divine scripture. Looking at the dismal history of the Muslims, is it any wonder that, having been guilty of a similar infringement, they are also being humiliated by the worst and most lowly of enemies? All is not lost however and this downward trend can be reversed in order to surmount and overcome the situation. The Muslim nation's ethical, social, political, and economic life, its law, practices, and relations with the outside world should stem from the Qur'an and be guided by its principles. In short, Muslims must learn to live every aspect of their life by the Qur'an. This process cannot be completed overnight and will be an on-going and gradual development, governed by the laws of human nature and the imperatives of social change. Unfortunately, man is impatient and can easily be driven to despair: "Man prays for ill as fervently as he prays for good; truly, man is ever impatient" (11).

(The next two paragraphs concern all of us)

"Your Lord has enjoined that you worship none but Him, and to show kindness to parents..." (23). With an emphasis on Tauhid, indicating that it is the backbone of righteousness and true submission to God. Along with Tauhid comes respect and kindness towards one's parents. To appreciate the value of this, one need only look at how parents and old people are treated in today's Western materialistic societies. Once they reach a certain age, parents and grandparents are committed to old people's homes and institutions that are devoid of love and kinship, abandoned by their sons and daughters and left to die in loneliness and desolation. Despite the hard work and effort put into raising their children, parents in this society receive very little in return and nothing reflects more disloyalty and selfishness than uncaring, ungrateful offspring. Furthermore, the general trend in many societies today is to raise children with the idea that they should break away from their families at the earliest possible age. In the West, for example, they meet only, if at all, once a year at Christmas, or at family weddings and funerals.

In Muslim societies, children should have a different relationship with their parents. God say: "Treat them with humility and tenderness and say, 'Lord, be merciful to them for they nurtured me when I was in childhood'" (24). Regarding other family relations, He says: "Give to the near of kin their due, and also to the destitute and to the wayfarer. Do not squander your wealth wastefully..." (26). This is further stressed in the verse which says: "Be neither miserly nor extravagant, lest you would become despised or destitute" (29). Alluding to the pre-Islamic Arab custom of burying alive unwanted new-born girls, the surah goes on to point out that such methods of birth control are not the best solution for the world population problem. People must seek fair and equitable means of distribution of wealth and resources among all members of society: "Do not kill your children for fear of want" (31).

The Qur'an also enjoins man to protect the property of the orphan, honour pledges, covenant and contracts, and exercise justice and fairness in using weights and measures. Every individual bears responsibility for what he hears or sees or feels. As humans, our lives have a purpose, our senses and actions carry liabilities and are answerable for all our experiences. The Qur'an tells us: "Do not follow what you do not understand. All shall be accountable for what their ears, eyes, and hearts do" (36). The section is rounded off with: "Do not walk haughtily on the earth. You shall neither split the earth nor rival the mountains in their height" (37). These valuable exhortations are vital ingredients for the development of morally and spiritually balanced individuals and are, moreover, indispensable building blocks for the development of strong and enlightened societies.

The surah then turns to an inspiring and reassuring discussion about God Almighty and His power and affinity with the believers. It touches on the natural physical world around us and the amazing harmony and rapport which distinguish its system, movement, and existence. The infinite and incredibly complex universe, with its millions upon millions of stars, planets, and galaxies, is in constant motion, but this motion is so smooth and tranquil that every second that passes provides additional proof of the power and might of its Creator. Another marvel of creation is the human body composed of hundreds of millions of cells which form a number of complex systems performing a wide range of vital well-integrated functions that make man a central and effective force in shaping the destiny of the world. Does each of these cells realise the purpose of their purpose of their existence or comprehend the functions they carry out? Do 'white cells' or 'red cells' have brains of their own that tell them what to do or how to behave? No, it is Allah who controls them and who has programmed them to perform a specific set of functions lasting for a determined period of time which could extend to a whole generation. This marvel is duplicated, with the same efficiency and precision, in thousands of millions of human beings and has been done so for hundreds of thousands of years.

Every atom in this vast cosmos, every cell, every human being, and every creature is a testament to God's predominance and authority. Is this not proof enough of His incontestable supremacy and unparalleled power? This world cannot exist on its own nor could it have come into existence of its own free will or volition. It is totally and completely dependent on the power and grace of God. Skeptics who choose not to believe in God or acknowledge His authority do Him no harm whatsoever.

Verse 83 of al-Baqarah cites God's advice to the Israelites to: "Be courteous to others," emphasing the point that politeness and civility are necessary features of the believers. Echoing this counsel verse 53 of this surah also directs Muslims, through Prophet Muhammad, to be courteous and pleasant to one another: "Tell My servants to be courteous in their speech, for Satan sows discord among them. Satan is the sworn enemy of man." (53) . This is followed by an assertion that Islam, and the Muslims, shall eventually triumph. "Your Lord is best aware of all who dwell in the heavens and on the earth. We have exalted some prophets above others, and to David We gave the Psalms." (55). Elsewhere in the Qur'an the Psalms of David are said to include this promise: "We ordained in the Psalms, as in the Book previously, that My righteous servants shall inherit the land of Paradise" (al-Anbiya: 105). Taken together, these statements affirm the continuity of God's message throughout human history. This continuity is based on the concept of Tawhid, the distinguishing and most fundamental principle that binds the community of believers together and links them firmly to God.

Prophet Muhammad spared no effort to present the principle of Tawhid in the simplest and most intelligible and forceful manner possible.

Once the external material struggle had been overcome and the Muslims had achieved victory, a new internal struggle took prominence as the self learned to do battle with its ego, pride, and desires. Muhammad was taught that to become closer to God he should perform extra prayers and devote more time to personal, spiritual regeneration and development.

Observe the prayers (at their appointed times) from the time the sun rises in the meridian and through the night. Recitation of the Qur'an at dawn is particularly celebrated. (78)

Muhammad was the last of the illustrious chain of prophets sent by God to mankind, and he was the seal of prophethood. His coming had been alluded to in the scriptures of the Jews and Christians and they were aware of his imminent arrival. When the impending event occurred, the true believers among them accepted him without hesitation, God says:

We have revealed the Qur'an with the universal Truth, and it has been revealed with the Truth. We have sent you (Muhammad) only as a Messenger to deliver good tidings and to warn. We have revealed the Qur'an in stages, piece by piece, so that you may recite it to people with deliberation. Say, "It is for you to believe in it or to reject it." Those endowed with knowledge prior to its revelation prostrate themselves when it is recited to them, saying: "Glorious is our Lord; our Lord's promise has been fulfilled." (105-108)

History informs us that as the Roman empire began to decline, the Christians of Syria and Egypt accepted Islam willingly and en masse, and together with the Arabs, they carried it forward to all corners of the globe. This is a vindication of the truth of the above verses and a strong indication of the true and genuine faith of large sections of pre-Islamic Jewish and Christian communities.

SURAH 4 - AL-NISA' (WOMEN)

The Messiah would never feel too proud to be a servant of God, nor would the angels who are close (to God). He (God) shall bring before Him all those who are arrogant and look down on those worshipping Him (172)

....That was a consequence of their breaking their covenant, their denial of God's revelation, their killing of the prophets unjustly and their saying, "Our hearts are sealed." It is God who sealed their hearts, on account of their denial, and only a few of them would truly believe. It was also a consequence of their denial and their utterance of monstrous falsehoods against Mary. (155-56)

When Jesus became the target of slander and murderous intents, God saved him and confounded his enemies.

They had neither killed him, nor crucified him, but it was made to seem to them that they did. Those who disagree about that are confused; they have no knowledge thereof, going by pure conjecture, since they had certainly not killed him. God lifted him up to Him; God is Mighty and Wise. (157-58)

Nevertheless, for historical and other reasons, many people have come to believe in the crucifixion and salvation myths that have become a central part of Christian dogma and doctrine. This is due to ignorance, narrow-mindedness, and lack of enlightenment. God, affirming the escape and eventual ascent of Jesus and his submission to Him, maintains in these verses that were the people more enlightened, they would have taken a more sensible attitude:

But those of them who are deeply rooted in knowledge and the believers do believe in what has been sent down to you (Muhammad) and what was sent before you; and so do those who observe the prayer and give alms, and so do believers in God and the Last Day. We shall give all of these a great reward. (162)

LEAVE THE FUTURE ALONE UNTIL IT COMES

Be not hasty and rushed for things that have yet to come to pass. Do you think it is wise to pick fruits before they become ripe? Tomorrow is non-existent, having no reality today, so why should you busy yourself with it? Why should you have apprehensions about future disasters? Why should you be engrossed by their thoughts, especially since you do not know whether you will even see tomorrow?

The important thing to know is that tomorrow is from the world of the unseen, a bridge that we do not cross until it comes. Who knows, perhaps we might never reach the bridge, or the bridge might collapse before we reach it, or we may actually reach it and cross safely.

For us to be engrossed in expectations about the future is looked down upon in our religion since it leads to our having a long-term attachment to this world, an attachment that the good believer shuns. Many people of this world are unduly fearful of future poverty, hunger, disease, and disaster: such thinking is inspired by the Devil.

Many are those who cry because they see themselves starving tomorrow, falling sick after a month, or because they fear that the world will come to an end after a year. Someone who has no clue as to when he will die (which is all of us) should not busy himself with such thoughts.

Since you are absorbed in the toils of today, leave tomorrow until it comes. Beware of becoming unduly attached to future prospects in this world.

GRIEVE NOT AND ASK YOURSELF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS

1. Do I put off living in the present because of fears and apprehensions about the future or because of hopes of the magical garden beyond the horizon?

2. Do I embitter my present life by mulling over events that occurred in the past?

3. Do I wake up in the morning with an intention of spending my day usefully?

4. Do I find that I am benefitting from my life when I try to concentrate on a present situation or task?

5. When will I begin to live in the present moment, without worrying too much about the past and future? Next week? Tomorrow? Or today?

LELAKI YANG TELAH MEMBUNUH 99 MANGSA

Diriwayatkan oleh Bukhari-Muslim daripada Abi Sa'id RA bahawasanya
Rasulullah SAW bersabda:

Mendengarkan bacaan Al Qur'an: Sebahagian ulama mengatakan, bahawa mendengarkan orang membaca Al Qur'an pahalanya sama dengan orang membacanya.
